SUMMARY:
- Machinist that will maximize the capabilities of our CNC lathes through high level programming and setup.
- Utilize Esprit software to program our CNC lathes to meet our customer’s specifications.
- Set-up CNC lathes in a manner which enables the machine to produce precision parts consistently.
- Keep CNC lathes running optimally.
- Act as a technical lead in the CNC department.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program and set-up computer numerical control (CNC) lathes.
- Submit completed first article inspection report to Quality Control Manager for approval.
- Run “New” setup for at least 1 hour to make sure it runs smoothly.
- High level ability to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specification, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece.
- High level ability to use precision measuring instruments to measure part features to the drawing’s specifications.
- Utilize Esprit programming software to program our customers’ parts in effort that produces consistent quality by fully utilizing the tooling and the CNC lathes capabilities.
- Set-up CNC lathes independently from a CNC program. Select, align and secure work holding, cutting tools and attachments to maximize tool life and consistency during the job run.
- Instruct and train operators on how to run a job that was just set-up before handing it off to run production.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safe procedures and regulations
- Observes machine operations in the CNC lathe department to identify machine or other problems that negatively affect production or quality. Work with the production manager to correct these issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Implement Training and assist others in problem solving.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 10 year’s experience or State Journeyman papers
- Fanuc controls programming knowledge
- Esprit 3D CAD programming knowledge
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and basic math skills.
