Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Locum Dentist to join our dynamic dental team for Thursdays and Fridays throughout August and possibly second week of september. Duties
- Perform a wide range of general dental procedures including examinations, restorations, extractions (preferred but not required), root canal therapy (preferred but not required), prosthodontics, and occasional prophy.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnose dental conditions accurately, and develop effective treatment plans.
- Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Use dental practice management software - open dental - for accurate medical documentation and record keeping.
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws while managing medical records and documentation.
- Assist with dental fabrication procedures and support patient education on oral health maintenance.
- Stay updated on advancements in dentistry, including pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, implants, endodontics, and oral surgery techniques.
Qualifications
- Valid dental license to practice in the relevant state or region with current credentials for providing general dentistry services..
- Strong knowledge of dental diagnosis, medical terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and dental imaging techniques.
- Basic skills in general dentistry.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly and compassionately.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare requirements related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
- Ability to work efficiently within a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry while maintaining high standards of patient care.
