Legal Assistant — Complex Civil Litigation

Baratta Law Firm is a plaintiff's litigation practice focused on complex personal injury matters, including medical malpractice and products liability claims. We deliberately keep our caseload small so that every client gets our full attention and every case gets the resources it deserves. If you want to be a name on a file number instead of a face behind a folder, this isn't the place for you. If you want to work closely with an attorney who knows every detail of every case — this is.
We're looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team.
What You'll Do
You'll be a true partner in the litigation process, not just a scheduler. We need someone comfortable across the full lifecycle of civil litigation, including:
- Drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses
- Managing case files, deadlines, and court calendars
- Coordinating with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Organizing and managing medical records, discovery materials, and exhibits
- Assisting with deposition and trial preparation
- Handling correspondence and case status communications with clients
What We're Looking For
- Solid, hands-on experience with the civil litigation process from intake through trial
- Comfort working on medical malpractice and/or products liability matters is a strong plus
- Sharp attention to detail — these cases turn on facts, records, and deadlines
- Strong writing and communication skills
- The ability to manage competing deadlines across a focused, high-stakes caseload
