JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking to fill several roles at both of our locations with dedicated, nurturing individuals who are looking for a career in early childhood education.
This is not a babysitting position - we are looking for teachers who are committed to active engagement and curriculum implementation.
The ideal candidate will be punctual, reliable, personable, and able to take initiative to keep the classroom running smoothly. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable being actively engaged with the children throughout the day. We provide a play-based curriculum, and its success depends on quality teacher-child interactions.
As a type-III center, we are also subject to formal evaluations of our classrooms, and except all of our staff to adhere to the standards set forth by the state to ensure high ratings for our center.
Base pay starts at $10/hour but increases with certifications and experience.
Teacher Roles - full-time only
Teachers will be expected to:
- Complete care tasks as needed throughout the day, with various needs dictated by age range (supervising mealtime, feeding, toileting assistance, diaper changes, cleaning faces, etc)
- Adhere to the daily schedule of activities
- Implement the provided curriculum
- Follow safe sleep practices
- Keep a clean and safe classroom environment
- Maintain a professional manner when communicating with parents and other visitors to the center
- Follow all stated procedures for discipline
- Maintain constant, active supervision of the classroom
- Keep updated, accurate logs for all meals, diapers/bathrooms, naps etc using provided software
- attend/take mandatory professional development trainings
Floaters - full or part-time
Floaters are expected to:
- Assist as needed with care tasks
- Adhere to the daily schedule
- Act as an extra set of hands in any classroom as needed, to assist with bathroom breaks, lunch breaks, warming bottles, etc as needed
- Keep a clean and organized classroom environment
- Disinfect toys/classroom surfaces and help with end of shift cleaning
- Follow all policies and procedures
- Maintaining a professional manner when speaking with parents or others who may visit the center
- Constant, active supervision of the children
- Coordinating with other teachers to maintain accurate, updated logs using the provided software
- Attend mandatory professional development trainings
- Sub in classrooms as needed for teacher absences
Preferred Qualifications
- experience in licensed childcare centers
- CPR certification
- other early childhood-specific certifications
