As we continue to grow and improve, we are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician will play a key role in performing laboratory tests and experiments, contributing to the advancement of our operational plant. In this role, you will be responsible for batching mortar, conducting compressive strength tests, and performing Alkali-Silica Reactivity (ASR) testing to evaluate the compatibility of different pozzolans in concrete, as well as several other test methods. You will have the flexibility to organize your daily tasks and work independently while ensuring the highest standards of precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Batch Mortar: Accurately weigh and mix mortar according to specified designs for testing purposes.
- Cylinder Molding & Breaking: Strip cylinder molds and break mortar cylinders after curing to assess compressive strength.
- ASR Testing: Conduct Alkali-Silica Reactivity (ASR) testing, including preparing samples and conducting expansion tests to evaluate the reactivity of aggregates with alkaline solutions.
- Material Testing: Perform various material tests such as Blaine fineness, bulk density, Loss on Ignition (LOI), and mill material.
- Quality Control: Ensure all testing adheres to ASTM standards and follows rigorous quality control procedures.
- Material Preparation: Crushing, Drying, Sieve Analysis, Moisture Analysis
- Data Collection & Analysis: Accurately document test results, analyze data, and report findings to the team to assist in decision-making processes.
- Organization & Cleaning: Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior lab staff to improve testing processes and enhance lab efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a laboratory or materials testing environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to testing and data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with ASTM standards for materials testing is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with the team.
