Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked thoroughly and safely
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal preparation during busy service periods
- Handle food presentation with attention to detail, creating visually appealing plates that delight guests
- Support inventory management by rotating stock, reducing waste, and notifying supervisors of supply needs
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant kitchens; dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with menu planning, catering, or food service operations is desirable
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and servers
