Sports Surface Technician (Hooksett, NH)
Job Overview:
The Sports Surface Technician will be responsible for various testing of sports fields, courts, and surfacing materials on-site and in the laboratory. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has a love of sports and an interest in laboratory experience. On-site locations may include some of the most prestigious stadiums in the world including many NFL, CFL, and FIFA installations. Extensive domestic travel, and occasional international travel is required as it is a main function of this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
On-Site:
- Perform testing of various sports surfaces/venues according to supplied standards and guidelines
- Record and report data
- Travel domestically and occasionally internationally
- Use and maintain testing equipment
Laboratory:
- Assisting with laboratory testing preparation and procedures
- Sample construction in the laboratory
- Material inventory and calibration
- Sample receiving and cataloging
- General laboratory organization and cleaning
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Interest in sports and related subjects
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well alone and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with good problem solving skills
- Must be able to life 50-80 pounds
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Demonstrated organizational and budget skills
- Ability to keep a schedule and be on time
- Computer/Microsoft Office Skills
- General understanding of math, physics and/or materials science recommended
- Prior laboratory experience is a bonus
- This is an hourly traveling position and candidates must be flexible with working hours due to the travel component. The majority of work is completed Monday to Friday with occasional weekends required.
