Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and cooking, following established recipes and safety standards in production
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients and ensuring timely meal assembly
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and handling procedures to ensure hygiene and compliance
- Serve meals efficiently while providing friendly customer service to residents or guests
- Help with catering events by preparing and presenting food items professionally
- Follow proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure precision and safety during food prep
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment aligned with safety standards in the food industry
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly valued
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Knowledge of safety standards in production and food handling practices
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering processes
- Excellent knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient prep work
- Understanding of food safety management systems within a kitchen or restaurant setting
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
