Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide exceptional nursing care across diverse healthcare settings. As a Travel LPN, you will have the opportunity to work in various hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and community health environments. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories, ensuring accurate documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following strict protocols and safety standards.
- Assist with complex procedures like catheterization, tube feeding, wound care, and sterile techniques using aseptic methods.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, especially those with acute pain, infectious diseases, or requiring ventilator support; respond promptly to emergencies such as airway management or trauma incidents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia.
- Conduct specimen collection and processing, perform diagnostic evaluations, and manage medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on health coaching topics like medication management, discharge planning, or chronic disease management to promote long-term wellness.
Skills
- Proven experience working in various healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, outpatient clinics, or home care settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and record keeping.
- Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture (phlebotomy), catheter care, and sterile processing techniques.
- Excellent patient assessment abilities with a focus on geriatrics and individuals with complex needs like Alzheimer's disease or memory care requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms (ER), ICU units including PICU or Neonatal ICU (NICU), urgent care clinics or surgical units.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and long-term care regulations to ensure compliance across all settings.
- Strong communication skills for triage situations and case management involving patients with acute or chronic conditions requiring pain management or hospice care support.
