Responsibilities
Strategic Product Oversight and Technical Leadership
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert for designated laboratory information systems and related technical products.
- Ensure product reliability, availability, and readiness for laboratory operations and application teams.
- Evaluate the technical and functional impact of product enhancements, upgrades, and architecture changes.
- Recommend improvements to strengthen product performance, usability, and long‑term scalability.
- Participate in design and technical review sessions to confirm compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Establish and maintain functional and usability standards to promote consistent product implementation.
Advanced Data Analytics and Public Health Reporting
- Calculate newborn screening quality indicators across all stages of the screening workflow.
- Conduct longitudinal analyses to identify infants at risk for critical or time‑sensitive health conditions.
- Prepare and maintain turnaround‑time metrics for infectious disease testing and public health surveillance.
- Monitor and analyze laboratory data utilization trends to support operational improvements and reporting accuracy.
- Support epidemiological investigations with timely and validated data outputs.
- Ensure data used for public health reporting meets accuracy, consistency, and completeness requirements.
Enterprise SQL Engineering, Data Architecture, and Platform Modernization
- Update and optimize SQL scripts to support Snowflake‑based data storage following the IOP migration.
- Validate data integration flows between Snowflake, LIMS, and associated laboratory applications.
- Coordinate with database administrators to align logical, physical, and business data models.
- Ensure high data quality, integrity, and traceability throughout all laboratory data workflows.
- Troubleshoot data access, query performance, and platform‑related issues in collaboration with technical teams.
- Support modernization initiatives by implementing SQL and data model improvements.
Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Optimization and Support
- Assist in testing LIMS functionality during upgrades, module deployments, and workflow enhancements.
- Perform impact analyses for production fixes and system enhancements to guide priority decisions.
- Validate architectural compatibility for proposed LIMS improvements or new product integrations.
- Provide timely issue resolution, troubleshooting, and user support for LIMS‑related challenges.
- Maintain LIMS data accuracy through continuous validation and monitoring.
- Coordinate closely with technical teams to ensure LIMS aligns with operational, regulatory, and data requirements.
System Testing, Quality Assurance, and Technical Documentation
- Develop and execute structured test scenarios and test cases for product validation.
- Review test strategies to ensure alignment with technical specifications and regulatory expectations.
- Document system configurations, testing outcomes, product updates, and workflow changes.
- Assign accurate severity levels to defects and manage remediation workflows.
- Validate quality standards by ensuring all updates meet defined technical requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of testing methodologies and documentation practices.
User Enablement, Technical Communication, and Stakeholder Engagement
- Create and deliver training materials for laboratory users and technical teams.
- Provide clear, consistent, and timely status updates to leadership, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with executive‑level users, program managers, and subject‑matter experts to refine requirements.
- Use business‑driven examples to explain technical features and promote user adoption.
- Translate complex technical concepts into accessible information for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Support cross‑department engagement to ensure smooth communication during enhancements or migrations.
Project Coordination, Issue Resolution, and Risk Management - 3%
- Develop accurate project estimates for design, development, and testing tasks.
- Track, manage, and resolve issues, risks, and action items impacting system or team performance.
- Create contingency plans to address technical, operational, or data‑related risks.

- Validate LIMS data integrity to maintain regulatory and accreditation compliance.
