The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for generating group room revenue, banquet and catering business, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, organizations, and community partners. This position actively solicits new business while maximizing revenue opportunities through existing accounts and repeat customers. The Senior Sales Manager serves as an ambassador for the resort and works closely with operations teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences and successful event execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Revenue Generation and Sales
- Prospect, solicit, and secure new group business opportunities.
- Manage assigned market segments and key accounts.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals for guestrooms, catering, and banquet sales.
- Conduct outside sales calls, networking events, trade shows, and community engagement activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with meeting planners, corporations, associations, and travel partners.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing within established guidelines.
- Maintain accurate forecasts, pace reports, and sales activity records.
- Maximize occupancy and ADR through strategic selling initiatives.
2. Account Management
- Maintain ongoing communication with existing clients to encourage repeat business.
- Conduct site inspections and host familiarization tours.
- Coordinate with operations departments to ensure all client expectations are met.
- Resolve guest and client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Develop annual account plans for top-producing clients.
3. Sales Administration
- Maintain accurate information in CRM and sales systems.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Monitor booking pace and identify opportunities to increase revenues.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings and provide updates on production and pipeline activity.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
4. Marketing and Community Engagement
- Represent the resort at industry events, networking functions, and community organizations.
- Build relationships with local businesses, chambers of commerce, CVBs, and tourism partners.
- Support resort marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns.
- Maintain awareness of market conditions and competitive properties.
5. Leadership and Teamwork
- Mentor and support sales coordinators and junior sales managers.
- Foster collaboration with operations, food and beverage, and revenue management teams.
- Uphold company culture and core values.
- Participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes.
- Contribute ideas that improve guest experiences and drive profitability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of hotel or resort sales experience, with group sales experience strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and hotel sales software.
- Ability to travel and work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends when required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight for trade shows and client meetings.
