Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and automation initiatives using systems like Paychex, Bill.com and Dynamics
- Conduct detailed Excel data analysis utilizing formulas such as VLOOKUP and advanced spreadsheet techniques to support financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with and internal audit requirements by maintaining accurate documentation and performing regular audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial software systems such as Paychex for data entry, reporting, and system upgrades.
- Support accounts receivable management activities, including collections and aging analysis, while ensuring timely invoice processing.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems or upgrades where necessary
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining strict adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying automation opportunities within accounts payable or reconciliation workflows.
Skills
- Extensive experience with GAAP accounting standards and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics, Quicken, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of financial compliance requirements and internal controls.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems like ADP or Paychex for payroll-related accounting tasks.
- Demonstrated ability in Excel data analysis using formulas, VLOOKUP functions, pivot tables, and spreadsheets for financial reporting.
- Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping principles and journal entry preparation.
- Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation, variance analysis, and financial statement review.
- Ability to handle high volumes of data entry accurately while managing multiple deadlines effectively.
- Experience working in public accounting environments is a plus but not required; a solid background in corporate accounting is essential.
