About the Role
Shelter Care is dedicated to ending homelessness and supporting adults living with mental illness. The Jubilee Support Specialist plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Jubilee Center — a welcoming drop-in day center where adults with mental illness can access meals, resources, social connection, and peer support. Many of our members experience homelessness at some point in their lives, and the Center serves as a consistent, safe, and affirming community for them.

Key Responsibilities
- Support Jubilee Center staff
- Assist with activities and daily operations
- Check in members daily and maintain strict confidentiality
- Schedule meetings between Jubilee members and advocates/case managers
- Manage shower and laundry reservations for unhoused Jubilee members
- Sort and distribute mail to members
- Accompany staff and members on group outings
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as copying and filing
- Obtain a Food Service License after hire (training and support provided)
WORKING HOURS are 9 AM - 2 PM Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience with mental illness, addiction, or homelessness preferred
- Valid driver's license required
Desired Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and genuine empathy for the populations we serve
- Crisis-intervention abilities or willingness to develop them
- Knowledge of issues affecting adults experiencing mental illness or housing instability
Physical Demands
This role involves a variety of physical tasks, including walking, climbing stairs, lifting, touching, hearing, and seeing. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
