About the job:
We have 1 opening for part-time Maintenance Staff to assist with managing our self-storage facility in Amarillo, TX. You will be working flexible day-time hours, as well as occasional weekends as needed for rare emergencies. This is a part-time, flexible position, that involves physical outdoors work. In total, you will be given the opportunity to work from 5-10+ hours per week, as needed by the business.
This is a great position if you are looking for a part-time supplement to other jobs or commitments! This is a stable position with a steady stream of work.
You will work under the direction of our on-site Property Manager, both indoors and outdoors, maintaining the facility by cleaning units, drilling/cutting locks, running errands, weed control, trash removal, and performing miscellaneous maintenance tasks. Must be physically capable and must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
*You may be given the extra opportunity to train on computer work to assist the Property Manager as needed, which includes processing customer payments, renting storage units, performing facility walkthroughs, making customer calls, etc.*
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ability to perform physical maintenance tasks and maintain property appearance, both indoors and outdoors
- Experience with facility/building maintenance, and/or handyman work (e.g. using hand/power tools)
- Reliable, prompt, strong work ethic, and safety-focused
- Great communication skills, both in-person and over phone/text
- Comfortable using computers/phones/technology
- Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation
- Completion of pre-employment background screening
- Experience working at a self-storage facility (nice to have but not required)
