Job Summary:
The Therapist is responsible for delivering professional individual and group clinical therapy services to our clients. Working closely with the entire clinical team, this role involves assessing clients’ needs, developing tailored treatment plans, and utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address mental health and recovery-related issues.
The Therapist is also expected to maintain detailed case documentation, evaluate client progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving needs. In addition to providing direct therapy services, the Therapist will contribute to ongoing program development and support the overall goals of the company.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Therapist LCSW to join our growing behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and/or groups while maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation. In addition to managing a clinical caseload, this position includes providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and case consultation to Associate Clinicians (AMFTs, ACSWs, and APCCs) in accordance with California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) requirements. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering the professional development of pre-licensed clinicians while promoting ethical, client-centered care and contributing to a collaborative, supportive clinical environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments, including biopsychosocial evaluations, and provide individual and group therapy sessions.
- Identify barriers to treatment success and develop/update client treatment plans, including referrals to outpatient services and progress notes.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of client care and provide therapeutic services for symptom management.
- Provide individual and/or group clinical supervision to Associate Clinicians in accordance with California BBS requirements and organizational policies.
- Review and provide feedback on associates' clinical documentation, treatment planning, and case conceptualization to promote quality client care and professional development.
- Mentor Associate Clinicians by providing clinical guidance, constructive feedback, and support toward successful licensure.
- Complete and maintain all required supervision documentation, including supervision agreements, evaluations, and verification of supervised experience, in accordance with BBS regulations.
- Collaborate on an interdisciplinary treatment team and maintain accurate records, complying with ASAM and EMR (Kipu) requirements.
- Prepare client reports and comply with company policies, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in staff development programs, staffing meetings, and maintain professional networks.
- Stay current with professional organizations and represent the company as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- Licensed as an LCSW in the State of California.
- Strong commitment to serve clients struggling with Chemical Dependency and Mental Health issues.
- Meets California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) requirements to provide clinical supervision to Associate Clinicians.
- Previous experience providing clinical supervision is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
- Ability to mentor, support, and develop pre-licensed clinicians while maintaining high standards of ethical and clinical practice.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Understanding of the disease model of addiction.
- Previous experience in working in a co-occurring addiction treatment and mental health treatment setting. Demonstrated experience working with individuals presenting co-occurring substance abuse disorders and mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, trauma, along with other addiction and behavioral health concerns.
- EMDR training and/or certification is a plus.
- Valid California Driver’s License required.
- Individuals in personal recovery a plus.
- Must pass a criminal background check as required by licensing authorities.
- CPR, AED & First Aid Certification required.
- Annual TB Testing required.
Regulatory & Compliance Expectations:
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations, including DHCS and Joint Commission standards.
- Follow company policies on ethical conduct, confidentiality, and safety.
- Participate in clinical audits, training, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Maintain an active, unrestricted California LCSW license in good standing throughout employment.
- Meet all California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) requirements to provide clinical supervision to Associate Clinicians (AMFTs, ACSWs, and/or APCCs).
- Complete and maintain all required supervision documentation, including supervision agreements, evaluations, and verification of experience hours, as applicable.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $87,000 - $97,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and licensure).
