- Shift: Day Shift – 4 x 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)

- Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience
- Strong experience with orthopedic and total joint procedures
- Community hospital experience required
- Current BLS Certification
- Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification (CST preferred)
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, sterilization, and surgical instrumentation
- Experience with orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, arthrotomy, fracture repair, total hip replacement, and total knee replacement
- Familiarity with instrument processing, specimen handling, radiation safety, and sterile processing
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records preferred
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assemble and organize surgical instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies for scheduled cases.
- Assist surgeons during orthopedic, general, and total joint procedures by anticipating surgical needs and passing instruments.
- Support procedures including arthroscopy, arthrotomy, fracture reduction, total hip replacement, total knee replacement, splinting, traction application, and wound care.
- Perform surgical counts and maintain sterile field integrity throughout each procedure.
- Process, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments and trays using approved sterilization and decontamination techniques.
- Handle surgical specimens accurately according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain surgical equipment, drills, washers, sterilizers, and case carts.
- Adhere to infection prevention standards, radiation safety, sharps safety, fire safety, and universal protocol (time-out) procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
- Assist with postoperative room turnover and preparation for subsequent surgical cases.
Pay: $1,800.00 - $2,100.00 per week
