Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. The ideal candidate will possess a mandatory Class A CDL license, demonstrate excellent driving skills, and adhere strictly to all federal and state regulations. You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers and flatbed trucks with manual transmission, to assigned routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load and unload shipping containers using proper techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and security during transit
- Roll-off trucking experience preferred
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes for timely deliveries while adjusting plans as needed for traffic or road conditions
- Maintain vehicle safety through routine inspections, preventive maintenance checks, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly
- Comply with all safety policies related to truck loading/unloading, hazardous materials handling, and securement procedures
Skills
- Valid CDL Class A license is mandatory with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in diverse environments
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and safety protocols
- Skilled in operating different types of tractor-trailers and flatbeds
- Proficient in using GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently with manual handling skills for freight loading/unloading
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures to ensure safe load securing and compliance with safety standards
