Job duties for
Utility Superintendent:
-
Lead and supervise utility construction crews specializing in sewer rehabilitation, including pipe replacement, pipe bursting, manhole installation, and point repairs
-
Manage field crews and subcontractors to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget
-
Coordinate with project managers, estimators, clients, engineering teams, and inspectors
-
Enforce contract specifications, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
-
Oversee scheduling, staffing, equipment allocation, and materials procurement across multiple projects
-
Maintain detailed job documentation, daily reports, and change orders
-
Support QA/QC procedures and final project reporting
-
Conduct safety meetings and promote a culture of safety and accountability
-
Participate in client meetings and site walkthroughs as needed
Qualifications for
Utility Superintendent:
-
Minimum high school diploma or GED required
-
At least 5 years’ experience in sewer rehab, pipe bursting, pump station construction or underground utility construction, with 2+ years supervisory experience
-
Valid driver’s license with clean record
-
OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, Confined Space Entry, and Trench Safety certifications required (or ability to obtain)

Strong technical knowledge of trenchless and open-cut rehab methods

Ability to read construction drawings and utility maps

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
-
Familiarity with GPS/GIS software, Microsoft Office, and sewer inspection tools
