Job Summary
Walters Recycling & Refuse is looking for a Digital Marketing Coordinator – SEO/AEO & Web Support to help support our digital growth, website performance, organic visibility, AI-driven search presence, and day-to-day marketing efforts.
This hands-on role is a great fit for someone who is organized, digitally focused, curious, and comfortable balancing website work with social media, email marketing, events, and customer education.
Key Responsibilities

Support SEO and AEO strategies to improve Walters’ visibility across Google, local search, and AI-generated search results.

Update and optimize website content, including service pages, landing pages, blogs, FAQs, forms, seasonal content, and customer resources.

Assist with keyword research, content recommendations, meta descriptions, internal links, image alt text, and on-page SEO updates.

Monitor website performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, and other reporting platforms.

Help identify website improvement opportunities, including new content, technical updates, broken links, redirects, mobile usability, and page speed recommendations.

Support social media planning, content creation, scheduling, captions, graphics, photos, videos, and engagement.

Assist with email marketing campaigns, customer communications, service updates, promotions, and education initiatives.

Help coordinate community events, sponsorships, municipal events, internal events, and post-event follow-up.

Support recycling education, municipal communication materials, flyers, digital resources, and customer-facing content.

Assist with marketing materials such as flyers, banners, social graphics, presentations, signage, digital displays, and branded supplies.
Qualifications

2–3 years of experience in digital marketing, SEO, website content management, social media, communications, or marketing coordination.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Basic understanding of SEO, website optimization, digital analytics, and content best practices.

Experience with WordPress or a similar website platform.

Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, Canva, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.

Strong writing, editing, proofreading, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.

Willingness to attend local events, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Preferred Experience

SEO tools such as SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or similar platforms.

Email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar tools.

Basic knowledge of AEO, AI search, FAQ optimization, schema markup, and content structure.

Canva or Adobe Creative Suite experience.

Interest in sustainability, recycling, waste reduction, environmental services, or community education.
