As a Hospice Resource RN, you'll work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team and provide expert clinical care, education and support when it matters the most. This role helps ensure continuity of care during census changes, staff illness, and vacations.

Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Monday – Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week)
Average of 2–3 weekends of on-call coverage per year
1–2 weeknights per month of on-call coverage
Participation in a holiday on-call rotation
This position is based out of the Waterloo office.
You will provide local coverage to nearby communities – all within 30 minutes of Waterloo.
All travel in and outside of Waterloo is fully reimbursed.
Paid travel time and mileage.
Provide nursing care to hospice patients in homes and healthcare facilities
Deliver compassionate end-of-life care focused on comfort, dignity and quality of life
Assess patients physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans
Monitor changes in condition and update plan of care
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning discussions
Educate and support patients, caregivers and families
Coordinate care and advocate for patients and families throughout their hospice journey
Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn work-related software
Valid Iowa driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Two years of recent nursing experience, preferably working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Previous hospice, home health, palliative care, or related nursing experience
Ability to move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to travel throughout the service area and work in patient homes, healthcare facilities and office settings
Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, walking and driving throughout the workday
Pre-employment/post-offer physical, TB, and drug screen required
