We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing team in Northern Colorado. This position is responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting, testing, and inspection of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards, local AHJ requirements, and company quality expectations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, test, and commission fire alarm systems for new and existing projects
- Perform routine and annual fire alarm inspections in compliance with NFPA 72 and local codes
- Diagnose and repair system deficiencies, troubles, and alarms
- Service and maintain fire alarm systems, devices, and associated components
- Work with a variety of fire alarm control panels, including but not limited to:
- Silent Knight
- Fire-Lite
- Notifier
- Simplex
- EST / Edwards
- Bosch
- Edwards/Kidde
- Accurately complete inspection reports, service tickets, and deficiency documentation
- Coordinate with customers, general contractors, inspectors, and AHJs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally at all times
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with fire alarm systems
- Proven experience with installation, service, and inspections
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Experience working independently in the field
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check (as required for inspections and secure sites)
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET certification (Level I–III preferred)
- Colorado Fire Alarm Registration (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with low-voltage systems (access control, CCTV, nurse call)
- Factory certifications on major fire alarm panels
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
