Job Description
GTS is seeking a Full-Time Operations Specialist with 3-5 years of experience to join our Ocean team. The Ocean Operations Specialist will work closely with Operations, PBL, Accounting and Management teams internally, as well as externally with customers and vendors. This job requires proactive thinking and creative solutions to mitigate risk and deliver superb results to GTS’ customers. This is a fast-paced role and you will be working on a number of projects at once. The Operations Specialist will be in constant communication with customers to plan end-to-end logistics solutions and transport plans for an array of projects worldwide.
Responsibilities:
· Uphold GTS’ ISO QMS and Quality, Service & Communication Standards
· Meet and exceed Customer expectations
· Take ownership and manage multiple projects with a number of customers at any given time
· Create door-to-door transport and logistics plans for customers’ CONUS and OCONUS projects
· Schedule transit plans to ensure on-time delivery, while maintaining cost targets
· Quoting, processing, tracking, and delivering shipments and invoicing once project is complete
· Collaborate with our internal PBL team to plan packaging and crating arrangements for shipments
· Expert document preparation for export and customs clearance
· Communicate and update customers regularly via phone and email, and cultivate relationships
· Coach, train and develop junior team members (when applicable)
· Maintain the highest standard of integrity and ethical decision making
Qualifications:
· Must be a Team Player
· High attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects at once
· Minimum 3 years of proven industry experience routing, booking and managing door-to-door ocean shipments – export and imports; responsible for the process from start to finish
· This role is primarily for Ocean, but if you have Air experience, that is a plus
· Experience with Government customers is not required but a plus
· Bachelor's degree required
· Candidate will ideally possess a DOS/DOD Secret Clearance
· MUST have experience with Cargowise and ability to learn new softwares at an efficient pace
· Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and customer service skills
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
