Job Title: Youth Development Professional

Job Summary: The Youth Development Professional serves as a mentor and role model for youth, facilitating programs and activities that promote personal growth, academic success, and social skills. This position is vital in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where members can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation:
- Plan, implement, and supervise activities that promote youth development in areas such as education, leadership, health, and arts.
- Adapt programs to meet the diverse needs of youth.
Mentorship and Support:
- Build positive relationships with youth, fostering a sense of belonging and trust.
- Provide guidance and support to help members set and achieve personal goals.
Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all members.
- Monitor and supervise youth during activities to maintain order and safety.
Community Engagement:
- Collaborate with families, schools, and community organizations to enhance program offerings and support youth development.
- Participate in outreach efforts to engage new members and promote club activities.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, program participation, and individual progress.
- Report on program outcomes and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Professional Development:
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in youth development.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education, social work, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with youth in a recreational, educational, or community setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Boys & Girls Club.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, on occasion.
- Physical ability to engage in activities with youth and move about the facility.
Compensation:
- Begins at $11.00 per hour
- Week paid vacation after one year. Free childcare for your children. Flexible schedule for college, etc.
