Pet Care Specialist & Bather | Lafayette Veterinary Care Center
Love pets? Love people? Join a team where you make a difference every single day.
At Lafayette Veterinary Care Center, we don’t just provide medical care; we provide peace of mind. We strive to maintain a fun, educational, and safe environment where our team can grow, reach their career goals, and—most importantly—spend their days surrounded by wagging tails.
The Role: Patient Experience Champion
As a Pet Care Specialist (PCS) and Bather, you are the heart of our boarding and resort experience. You aren't just "watching" dogs; you are their advocate, their playmate, and their caregiver.
What You’ll Do:
- Patient Advocacy: Monitor, feed, exercise, and medicate our guests. You’ll be the first to notice if a patient’s behavior changes.
- The "Resort" Experience: Supervise social interactions for safety, lead behavior modification exercises, and ensure every pet feels at home.
- Bathing & Beauty: Provide bathing services to keep our patients feeling and smelling their best.
- Client Connection: Greet pet parents with a smile, providing upbeat and detailed updates on their furry family member’s stay.
- Hospital Excellence: Maintain a pristine environment (suites, runs, and feline condos) and support the medical team with patient handling when needed.
Who You Are
- A Team Player: You have a "how can I help?" attitude and keep a professional demeanor even when things get busy.
- Resilient & Observant: You have keen powers of observation and the ability to stay calm and rational under pressure.
- Physically Active: You’re comfortable being on your feet for up to 10 hours, can lift 40 lbs solo (and more with a teammate), and don't mind getting your hands dirty.
- Growth-Minded: You have a strong desire to learn medical terminology and evolve within the veterinary field.
