Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Yard Worker/Stock Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing inventory, handling materials, and maintaining a safe, organized warehouse environment. Your proactive approach will ensure efficient stock movement, accurate inventory control, and excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Operate RF scanners and other inventory control systems to accurately track stock levels and update records in real-time.
- Stock shelves, organize storage areas, and ensure products are properly packaged for shipping or retail display.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and preparing outgoing shipments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and warehouse spaces, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Support inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies promptly.
- Communicate effectively with team members across shifts, providing multilingual support if applicable, to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience or retail store experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and stock management.
- Good communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus for supporting diverse teams and customers.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately.
- Knowledge of retail product merchandising, packaging, shipping & receiving procedures is advantageous.
