Department: Facilities
Performs general cleaning of building areas including lobby, offices, break rooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, meter shops, and storeroom. Performs other facilities/custodial duties as instructed by management.
- Empty waste receptacles and return them to their original locations.
- Cleans and disinfects restroom surfaces including toilets, urinals, sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, hand towel dispensers, partition walls, etc.
- Keep supplies replenished in restrooms including hand towels, toilet tissue, soap, etc.
- Performs general dusting of chair arms and legs, cabinets, coat racks, door frames, monitors, shelves, windowsills, blinds, baseboards, ceiling air vents etc.
- Spot cleans wall surfaces around light switches, handrails, doorknobs, and other heavy traffic areas as needed.
- Cleans and dry shine water fountains including dispensing area and bowls with a disinfectant solution. Keeps water fountain streak-free.
- Clean all entrance areas floors, walls, etc.
- Dust mops and damp mops all tile floor areas daily.
- Scrubs and disinfects restrooms.
- Keeps break rooms clean including floors, tables, chairs, countertops, microwaves, refrigerators, cabinets, walls, televisions, etc.
- Pick up debris around the exterior of buildings and the entire property especially on porches and in planters.
- Occasional floor care including cleaning carpets, scrubbing ceramic tile, grout cleaning, stripping, and waxing as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Training/Certifications: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience/Skills: Two (2) years custodial experience preferred.
Equipment: Floor buffers, scrubbers, waxers, high speed burnisher, vacuum cleaner, carpet extractor or shampooer.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Ability to walk long distances daily, stooping, bending, standing, twisting and some exposure to inclement weather. Occasional light lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
