Bartender Job Description
Position Title: Bartender
Reports To: Beverage Manager / FOH Manager / General Manager
Department: Bar / Front of House
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Rate: $17.87 + Tips
Position Summary:
The Bartender is responsible for crafting high-quality cocktails and beverages while delivering refined, attentive, and knowledgeable service. This position requires deep product knowledge, strong technical skills, and a polished presence that enhances the guest experience at the bar and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve classic and house cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and standards.
- Maintain full knowledge of the bar menu, wine list, and featured offerings.
- Engage guests at the bar with genuine, warm, and professional hospitality.
- Monitor alcohol consumption and uphold responsible service practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, glassware, and tools.
- Complete bar prep duties, restock inventory, and assist with end-of-night sidework.
- Accurately process orders using POS system and handle cash/card transactions.
- Collaborate with FOH and BOH teams to ensure timely delivery of food and drinks.
- Participate in menu tastings, staff education, and bar training as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of bartending experience in a high-volume or upscale setting.
- Strong cocktail technique and knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine.
- Must be organized, quick-thinking, and capable of multitasking.
- Excellent communication skills and guest-focused mindset.
- ServSafe Alcohol or equivalent certification preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $17.87 per hour
