We are currently seeking an experienced Bushing & Hone Technician to join our team.
Overview
The Bushing & Hone Technician will be responsible for precision fitting, installing, and honing of bushings in aircraft components. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience with close-tolerance machining, and the ability to work from technical manuals and engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
- Install, size, and hone bushings in accordance with OEM manuals and FAA requirements.
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, etc.) to ensure proper tolerances.
- Perform honing operations to achieve exact surface finishes and dimensions.
- Interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), drawings, and specifications to carry out repairs.
- Document all work performed in compliance with FAA and company standards.
- Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in clean and proper working condition.
- Collaborate with other technicians and Quality Control to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bushing installation, honing, or precision machining.
- Strong understanding of close-tolerance measuring and inspection methods.
- Ability to read and follow CMMs, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Hands-on mechanical background, preferably in aviation, aerospace, or related industries.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- FAA repair station or aviation MRO experience strongly preferred.
