Responsibilities
Assist lead painters with surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and priming surfaces for painting or coating.
Support the application of paint using various methods such as brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying), and construction spray painting techniques.
Help with the setup and operation of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers, and scaffolding equipment like ladders to ensure safe and efficient work processes.
Prepare construction sites by interpreting technical drawings, reading blueprints, and understanding project specifications for renovation or restoration projects.
Perform surface repairs such as caulking, plastering, stucco application, masonry work, and fixture installation to ensure surfaces are ready for finishing coats.
Adhere strictly to safety regulations by using respiratory protection, following safety protocol adherence, and maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
Assist with cleaning up work areas after project completion and properly storing tools and materials for future use.
Experience
Previous experience in construction site environments or handyman roles is highly desirable.
Familiarity with construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings enhances your ability to support complex projects effectively.
Hands-on experience with various hand tools, power tools, coating techniques including industrial painting, structural painting, and interior/exterior surface preparation is preferred.
Knowledge of color theory helps in achieving precise visual color comparison for aesthetic consistency.
Understanding of safety regulations related to construction painting—including respiratory protection—is essential for maintaining a safe workspace.
Basic math skills are necessary for measurements and calculations during surface preparation and coating application.
Experience with renovation projects or restoration work demonstrates versatility in handling diverse tasks on-site.

Pay: $18.00 - $29.70 per hour
