About Wilde Acres
Wilde Acres is Maryland's premier dog training, boarding, and grooming facility, set on a 20-acre campus in Glyndon with fenced fields, wooded trails, and a weather-protected yard. We've trained more than 5,000 dogs over two decades, and our grooming salon serves a loyal, growing client base of training and boarding families — which means a built-in book of business from day one.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced groomer who can work independently across all breeds, coat types, and cuts. You'll run full grooms and our signature Spaw packages in a facility where dogs are well-handled, well-trained, and set up to succeed on your table. Pay is commission-based (percentage of grooming revenue) plus 100% of your tips — your earnings scale with your skill and speed.
What You'll Do
- Perform full grooms: bath, haircut, nail trim/dremel, ear cleaning, and brushing
- Deliver our Spaw packages (Essentials, Deluxe, Premium, and Shedless de-shedding treatments)
- Consult with owners on styles, coat condition, and maintenance
- Handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
- Keep your station and equipment clean, sanitized, and organized
- Work with our training and boarding teams to schedule grooms for retreat and boarding dogs
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of professional grooming experience (salon or mobile)
- Proficiency in breed-standard and pet cuts across coat types, including double-coated breeds
- Confident, calm dog handling — including large and high-energy dogs
- Own grooming shears/tools preferred
- Reliable, self-managing, and client-friendly
- Weekend availability a plus (facility operates 7 days, 8 AM–4 PM)
