Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is hiring Electrical Engineering Designers for direct-hire, full-time opportunities in Duffield, VA and Roanoke, VA. Job Summary
The Electrical Engineering Designer is responsible for the design, development, alteration, and modification of shelter drawings and electrical systems. This role supports engineering projects by producing accurate drawings, calculations, and documentation while collaborating with internal teams and supporting manufacturing operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare detailed shelter and electrical design drawings with a high level of accuracy
- Interpret bid letters, customer specifications, and customer-supplied drawings for design requirements
- Perform calculations including AC service, HVAC, energy, and structural calculations using standard procedures
- Prepare work orders and detailed Bills of Material (BOMs) while drawings are in progress
- Work on projects of limited to moderate complexity based on experience level
- Assist other designers as needed
- Provide technical support to factory personnel, sales teams, and customers
- Travel as needed (minimal and project-based)
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or design or 3 years of on the job experience
Certifications/Software:
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience required
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Working knowledge of algebra, geometry, and mathematical formulas
- Strong technical aptitude in Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based engineering environment
