Regional CDL-A Driver – New Graduates Welcome - Hammond, IN
Just earned your CDL? MWS is committed to giving new drivers the opportunity to succeed. No experience is required. We provide paid training, hands-on instruction, and ongoing support to help recent graduates build confidence, gain valuable experience, and start a successful trucking career.
Pay & Compensation
- Weekly Pay: $1,300–$1,800
- Annual Pay: $68,000–$93,000
- CPM: 56¢–70¢ (increases by 1 CPM each year for up to 14 years)
- Miles: 2,000–2,500 per week
Home Time
Orientation
- One-day paid orientation
- Covers safety procedures, equipment walkthrough, drug screening, and skills assessment
- Orientation Pay: $300 (paid with first paycheck)
- Transportation and hotel accommodations provided
Freight & Routes
- Drivers haul 100% no-touch general commodity freight throughout the Great Lakes region on established regional routes. Consistent freight volumes, reliable miles, and established lanes help provide steady work and efficient operations.

- 2022 or newer Freightliner Cascadia
- Assigned truck
- Automatic transmissions only
- Manual restriction accepted

Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- No experience required
- Minimum age: 21
- Must live within 75 miles of Hammond, IN
- Basic load securement knowledge
- No major moving violations within the last 12 months
- 3-year MVR review
- 10-year background check
- Must pass hair and urine drug screening
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Maintain accurate ELD logs and required paperwork
- Deliver freight safely and on schedule
- Operate automatic tractors with 48'–53' trailers
- Follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations
