Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated, professional guest liaison to lead our front door in our upscale casual restaurant located in North Old Town Alexandria. Although experience is a plus, we would be happy to train a interested individual who has a passion for the restaurant industry and for providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, making them feel welcome and valued.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using Toast POS (Point of Sale).
- Maintain wait lists, monitor guest flow, and communicate wait times clearly to ensure smooth seating processes.
- Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing information and taking reservations as needed.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
- Uphold food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting area.
- Assist with guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
Requirements
- Previous host/hostess experience or food service background preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and a welcoming personality.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and management.
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Toast.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices.
- Organizational skills to manage reservations, wait lists, and guest flow seamlessly.
- Experience in hotel or hospitality settings is a plus but not mandatory; a passion for guest relations is key.
