Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and efficiency
- Take and develop X-ray images, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper safety standards and ensuring accurate medical documentation
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to promote ongoing health and wellness
- Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and handling administrative tasks with professionalism
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting techniques and anatomy
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
- Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dental procedures
- Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare providers
