Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently and promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and ensure all work areas meet sanitation standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas remain tidy during service hours
- Handle food handling responsibilities in accordance with safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Aid in catering and banquet setups by providing clean dishware and assisting with event-specific needs
- Follow proper procedures for waste disposal and recycling to maintain an environmentally friendly workspace
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy trays or containers
- Strong attention to detail in cleaning and organization tasks
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting kitchen staff and servers
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations including bussing, food preparation, and general cleaning practices
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
