Position: Shift Leader

Role Summary
The Shift Leader at Zestia Greek Street Food is responsible for leading day-to-day restaurant operations during assigned shifts. This role ensures exceptional guest experience, consistent food quality, strong execution of brand standards, and effective team performance in a fast-paced QSR environment. Shift Leaders serve as a key extension of the General Manager and play an active role in developing future leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
- Resolve guest complaints, concerns, and service issues promptly and professionally
- Ensure a welcoming, friendly, and energetic guest experience aligned with the Zestia brand
- Monitor guest satisfaction and coach team members on hospitality and service recovery
Operations & Food Safety
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, health, and sanitation standards
- Conduct routine cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety checks
- Maintain back-of-house organization, cleanliness, and workflow efficiency
- Support catering order preparation, accuracy, and on-time execution
Team Leadership & Performance
- Supervise and support hourly team members during shifts
- Coach and train team members on speed of service, food quality, and brand standards
- Monitor shift performance and communicate expectations and feedback clearly
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and operational standards consistently
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and productive work environment
Cash Handling & Shift Execution
- Open and close registers accurately
- Account for cash drops and deposits in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure smooth shift transitions and proper handoffs between leaders
People Management & Development
- Address employee requests, attendance issues, and minor policy violations, escalating to the General Manager when appropriate
- Assist with shift scheduling as needed
- Identify high-potential team members and support leadership development
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous QSR or fast-casual leadership experience preferred
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and coach teams
- Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with both guests and team members
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and focused under pressure
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to operational excellence
