The Sanford School of Medicine is seeking applications for a Scholarship Pathway Coordinator for the Service Pathway.
Qualifications:
- MD, DO or PhD
- USD experience preferred
- Have or ability to obtain a faculty appointment with SSOM
Duties:
- Coordinate with the other committee members to assure comparability of student experience and responsibilities.
- Correspond with students and faculty mentors regarding schedules and expectations.
- Correspond with students and faculty mentors with feedback regarding project applications, progress reports, poster submissions, abstracts and manuscripts.
- Create and conduct student workshops on topics relevant to project development, poster design, professional writing: abstracts and manuscripts.
- Recruit students for the Scholarship Pathways Program.
- Recruit and mentor faculty mentors for the Scholarship Pathways Program.
- Plan and participate in the annual Scholars’ Research Symposium recognizing SPP Graduating Class.
- Conduct periodic program reviews and evaluation.
- Occasionally travel to USD SSOM campuses.
- Provide periodic reports to the Scholarship Pathways Director.
This position reports to Dr. Benjamin Aaker, Scholarship Pathways Program Director.
First review of applications will begin May 14, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.
