Rail Infrastructure Maintenance:

Inspect, maintain, and repair rail tracks, switches, and crossings within the yard.

Ensure proper alignment, drainage, and ballast conditions around the track area.

Perform minor track resurfacing, tamping, and bolt tightening as needed.
Equipment & Yard Support:

Maintain and service railcar movers, mobile equipment, and yard tools.

Conduct pre- and post-operation checks on yard equipment and report any issues.

Assist with loading/unloading material from railcars and coordinating car positioning.
Safety & Compliance:

Follow company, MSHA, and FRA regulations when performing all maintenance tasks.

Monitor yard conditions for hazards, ensuring safe access for workers and equipment.

Participate in regular safety inspections and meetings.
Communication & Documentation:

Work with terminal operators and supervisors to coordinate railcar movement and equipment needs.

Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Report any infrastructure issues, mechanical failures, or railcar defects promptly.
Desired Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

1–3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, construction, or rail yard operations preferred.

Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of tools, hydraulics, and maintenance equipment.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain.

Willingness to travel to different plant locations.

Must be safety-minded and able to follow strict operating procedures.

Willing to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus.
