Job Summary
We are seeking reliable, safety-focused 2nd Shift Mill and Calendar Operators to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining mill and calendar equipment used in the production process. The ideal candidate will ensure products meet quality standards, production goals are achieved, and all safety procedures are followed.
This role is best suited for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout their shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust mill and calendar machinery according to production specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make process adjustments as needed to maintain product quality.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Record production data, material usage, and quality inspection results.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and minor maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and movement of products throughout the facility.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or industrial experience highly preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
This is an extremely physical, labor-intensive position in a manufacturing environment. Candidates must be capable of performing strenuous physical activities throughout their shift, including:
Candidates must be able to safely lift and move up to 100 pounds, either independently or with assistance and proper material-handling equipment when required. This position requires a high level of physical stamina and endurance to perform essential job functions safely and effectively.
- Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Repeated bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and reaching.
- Loading and unloading raw materials and finished products.
- Working in a fast-paced production environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Performing repetitive motions with hands, arms, and shoulders throughout the workday.
- Safely handling heavy materials while following all company safety procedures.Important:
Pay: $23.20 - $25.00 per hour
