Stores Clerk I
The fundamental reason that this classification exists is to assist in the maintenance of an inventory of various stored materials. The primary work responsibilities of this classification include: receiving items for inventory, maintaining the items in storage, issuing and releasing items, and performing other related duties. The supervisors of these employees vary by assigned location.
High school diploma or GED certificate and six (6) months of experience in warehouse operations such as receiving, issuing, and storing materials.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must have or obtain a valid and current Alabama driver's license in order to drive vehicles for the delivery or pick-up of items.
Receives items such as office supplies, equipment, and evidence using computers and forms following departmental policies and procedures in order to maintain an inventory
Maintains items in inventory using computers and forms following departmental policies and procedures in order to ensure adequate access to inventory.
Issues/Releases materials in inventory using computers and forms following departmental policies and procedures in order to assist customers and purge unused or unneeded inventory.
Performs others duties to include housekeeping duties and routine vehicle maintenance following departmental policies and procedures in order to provide safe work environment and support and contribute to the overall department objectives.
