Vanguard Truck Centers is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control Clerk to oversee the accuracy and integrity of our heavy-duty truck parts inventory. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts, receiving audits, inventory adjustments, returns processing, and supporting the Parts Department with inventory management initiatives.

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Audit incoming shipments to ensure quantity and accuracy.

Verify proper receiving, stocking, and bin locations.

Process inventory adjustments with appropriate documentation and approvals.

Monitor and maintain inventory integrity within the dealership management system.

Assist with annual physical inventory counts.

Review and process vendor returns, warranty returns, and obsolete inventory.

Work closely with Parts Counter personnel to resolve inventory issues.

Ensure proper labeling, organization, and cleanliness of warehouse storage areas.

Research negative inventory balances and implement corrective actions.

Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory for management review.

Assist in maintaining inventory turns and minimizing shrinkage.

Coordinate inventory transfers between Vanguard Truck Center locations as needed.

Ensure compliance with company inventory control procedures.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for inventory transactions.

Communicate inventory concerns and recommendations to the Parts Manager.

Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Parts Department.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED required.

Previous inventory control, warehouse, or parts experience preferred.

Heavy-duty truck, automotive, or industrial parts experience is highly preferred.

Experience working with dealership management systems (CDK, Procede, Karmak, etc.) is a plus.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and inventory software.

Experience in a heavy-duty truck dealership or commercial vehicle environment.

Knowledge of Volvo, Mack, Hino, Isuzu, or other commercial truck parts.

Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification).

Experience with cycle count programs and inventory audits.
