Role Overview
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the shipment of fresh strawberries and related products to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely order fulfillment. This position processes orders, maintains shipping records and inventory accuracy, prepares shipping documentation, and verifies outbound shipments while working closely with production and logistics teams. The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in supporting smooth operations and upholding food safety, quality, and customer service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, shipping manifests, and delivery records.
- Verify customer orders, shipment details, and product quantities to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Coordinate shipping schedules and daily logistics activities with warehouse, harvesting, packing, cooling, and transportation teams.
- Monitor inventory movements and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing products.
- Verify pallet counts, product quantities, lot information, and shipment destinations prior to release.
- Inspect outbound shipments to ensure compliance with quality, packaging, labeling, and customer requirements.
- Communicate with truck drivers, carriers, dispatch personnel, and internal teams regarding pickup schedules, delivery status, and transportation needs.
- Enter shipping, inventory, and logistics data into company systems accurately and timely.
- Track shipments and investigate discrepancies, shortages, damages, or delivery issues as needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading activities to ensure efficient product flow and shipment accuracy.
- Maintain organized shipping records, logs, and documentation in accordance with company procedures and recordkeeping requirements.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, quality assurance, and workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Report shipping delays, inventory concerns, product quality issues, or operational challenges to management.
- Support warehouse, shipping, inventory, and logistics operations as needed to meet customer and business requirements.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, agriculture, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
- Basic computer and data entry skills required; experience with Famous Software and/or RF-SMART is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and move throughout warehouse and shipping areas.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including warehouse, farm, and refrigerated cooler environments.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules as needed during peak harvest and shipping seasons.
