Maintenance Technician
Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems and equipment to keep our facilities operating safely and efficiently. You will also help maintain the appearance of the property through groundskeeping and general upkeep.
This position requires availability to respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of regular business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of apartments, preventive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment, appliances, and other facility equipment.
- Install new equipment and appliances according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Diagnose equipment problems using wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Replace defective parts and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Maintain the grounds by mowing, trimming, weed control, irrigation checks, and general landscaping duties.
- Pick up trash and debris throughout the property and keep common areas clean and presentable.
- Perform general building maintenance, including painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and repairs as needed.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, equipment, and replacement parts, and notify management when items need to be reordered.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts used.
- Operate company vehicles to transport tools, equipment, and materials.
- Work with team members to resolve maintenance issues quickly and safely.
- Be available to respond to emergency maintenance requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician, Service Technician, or similar role.
- Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, appliance repair, mechanical systems, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with preventive maintenance, landscaping, and general facility repairs.
- Familiarity with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
