American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a high-volume Level III trauma center in Yakima, WA, requiring a minimum of 3 years of large-volume, high-acuity ED experience and a comprehensive certification package.

226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital with 34 ED beds, seeing 200–250 patients per day — the busiest ED in the state
-
Emergency Department is organized into zones, including a 13-bed fast track ('green zone')

Patient population spans neonate to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma, stroke (TNK administration), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health, substance use disorder, and multi-system trauma

Stabilize and transfer cases include neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high-acuity pediatric patients
-
Patient ratios of 1:3–5 based on acuity

Epic EMR — experience required

12-hour night shifts (7p–7a); multiple shift start times available across day, mid, and evening schedules
-
Every other weekend rotation required; back-to-back weekends possible on rare occasions
-
No floating or on-call responsibilities

Active WA RN license or Compact RN license required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 3 years of experience in a large-volume, high-acuity ED

Triage experience required; must pass the facility's Triage Test prior to triaging independently

Proficiency in barcode scanning medication administration, medication drip management, and blood product administration

Ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, perform splinting, and manage BiPAP/ventilators

Strong understanding of ESI (Emergency Severity Index)

Epic EMR experience required

Two supervisor-level references required prior to start (charge nurse, manager, director, or above); one reference may be submitted at time of consideration

Pediatric emergency medicine experience is highly preferred

Point of Care Lab experience is a plus

Scrubs of any color are acceptable; no logos permitted
