Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Electrical Technician. Responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks on all industrial machinery equipment, and facilities. Also responsible for troubleshooting and repairing any issues with the machines or plant as they arise.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform routine inspections and daily p.m.’s of industrial machinery equipment.
· Troubleshoot /diagnose and repair any malfunctions or breakdowns of equipment in a timely manner to get the lines back up and running.
· Troubleshoot / diagnose repair of all production equipment, including fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers, shakers, conveyor belts, etc. Technicians also perform troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, such as chillers, air compressors, and general maintenance of the plant.
· Rebuild and fabricate parts.
· Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
· Generate parts requests to ensure adequate inventory.
· Communicate effectively with other team members and production.
· Ensure all safety & GMP regulations are followed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Requirements and Qualifications
· At least 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance equipment for food and beverage environments. Packaging and handling equipment maintenance with an emphasis on Electrical installation and experience with preventive maintenance repair, and troubleshooting in the following areas: conveyors, robotics, wrappers, palletizers, shrink wrappers, case packers, air compressors, and fillers.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions to guide maintenance activities.
· This is a hands-on position that requires strong debugging and troubleshooting skills within Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, and PLCs
· Replace and repair components, including connectors, cables, displays, and boards.
· Experience and knowledge of AC and DC motor controls, starters, contactors, overloads, start/stop/jog circuits, and motor wiring methods.
· Ability to troubleshoot I.P. & O.P.
· Ability to troubleshoot/repair/replace faulty electrical components such as motors, relays, switches, servos, VFD, and other sensing devices.
· Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated conveyor equipment.
· Basic electrical, mechanical, motor control, relay logic, and schematic reading.
· Must be able to use basic electrical test instruments, including VOM multi-meter, clamp-on ampere meter, continuity testing, and other basic test instruments. Able to meg motors and ring out wires.
· Ability to troubleshoot sensors, photo eyes, and how they relate to the PLC operation.
· Experience with breakers, contactors, relays, transformers, and control circuits.
· Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing low /high voltage and communication troubleshooting. High voltage 3-phase 480V motor repairs, motor starter circuits, motor controls, and transformers. Single-phase (120/240V) and three-phase (480V) power systems, fuses, transformers, control transformers, and 24V DC control voltage systems.
· Experience with trouble shooting VFD’S, able to install VFDs and set the parameters.
· Install, maintain, and test industrial electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, panels, MCCs, and PLC cabinets, in accordance with NEC and NFPA 70E standards.
· Experience with bending and installing conduit as well as pulling wire.
· Must possess basic fabrication skills such as measuring, cutting, and hole drilling of plastics, metals, and wood.
· Significant experience with standard hand and power tools
· Able to change out conveyor belts, rollers, bearings, track belts, etc.
· Able to lift and move heavy objects.
· Able to understand, read, write, and communicate English.
· Able to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Communicate existing and potential issues to your immediate Supervisor.
· Make it to work on time and work your full scheduled shift.
· Must supply your own basic hand tools; Best Maid will supply the toolbox.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
