Duties
- Perform detailed inspections of underground fiber optic conduit, vaults, pedestals, pull string installations to ensure adherence to construction plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Perform quality control checks on restoration of potholes, sidewalks, asphalt, landscaping and yards.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications to verify proper installation procedures and materials.
- Conduct regular site visits for construction site inspections, documenting progress and identifying potential issues or deviations from approved plans.
- Collect and analyze data related to construction quality inspections, including measurements, material verification, and safety compliance checks.
- Review construction management documents such as construction plans, as-builts, red lines and regulatory compliance reports to ensure project standards are met.
- Collaborate with construction teams, project managers, and regulatory agencies to resolve discrepancies and enforce quality control measures.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspection activities, including quality control reports permit compliance, conduit and underground integrity, and safety regulations adherence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction projects in a civil infrastructure or public works setting, with a focus on underground utility installation or fiber optic installations.
- Strong knowledge of construction regulations, building codes, safety regulations, and public infrastructure standards.
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints reading, and analyzing construction specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for data collection, report writing, and documentation management.
- Experience conducting quality control inspections and site inspections within a construction environment.
- Ability to assess construction site conditions accurately and enforce compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in changing weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Physically capable of walking long distances over uneven terrain throughout the workday.
- Able to frequently bend, kneel, squat, and lift to inspect and open underground vaults, utility pedestals, and related infrastructure.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality issues, defects, and safety concerns during inspections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Commitment to following all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between job sites as required.
