JOB SUMMARY:
Campus Construction Management Group (Campus CMG) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide support to our project teams in the Erie County, NY region. REPORTS TO: Project Manager and/or Field Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
General
- Achieves customer satisfaction by meeting or exceeding customer expectations, including Owners, Architects, Engineers, Prime Contractors, and Employees.
- Directs overall project activities as assigned by the Project Manager or Field Manager, including but not limited to, planning and coordinating departmental activities with others; problem resolution; and ensuring all company/project policies, procedures, and standards are maintained.
Project Management
- Assists the Project Manager or Field Manager in reviewing documents generated during the stages of the design process.
- Assists the Project Manager and/or Field Manager in developing front-end document sections (Ex. Multiple Contract Summary, Milestone schedule, temporary facilities, etc.).
- Assists the Project Manager with the bidding process, recruiting contractors for bidding each contract.
- Assists the Project Manager in the Submittal process with each prime contractor.
- Assists the Project Manager in Request for Information (RFI) process.
- Assists the Project Manager with the project closeout process and receives each closeout item required.
- Assists the Project Manager and/or Field Manager in in the development of project deficiency list.
Leadership
- Assists the Project Manager and/or Field Manager in conducting meetings during construction such as: pre-construction meetings, scheduling meetings, bi-weekly project meetings, field managers meetings; drafts and distributes meeting minutes as necessary.
- Assist the Field Manager on assigned projects, including monitoring and reporting on contractor’s activities and progress on assigned projects.
Scheduling
- Assists the Project Manager in collecting project schedule input from each prime contractor.
- Assist in updating the master schedule.
Communication
- Acts as a liaison between the Owner, Architect/Engineer, and the Contractor and manages the flow of communications.
Administrative
- Maintains accurate daily diary, daily records and as-built drawings, as required.
- Types correspondence (e.g., letters, memos, meeting minutes) as required by the Project Manager or Field Manager.
- Assists with the maintenance of all files, including all necessary correspondence and project minutes.
Customer Service
- Assists in acting as a liaison between Architect and Contractors to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and schedule.
- Assists in resolving construction issues (i.e., productivity, work interfaces), as required.
- Creates and maintains positive relationships with owner, architect, and trades people, subcontractors and suppliers.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides and assists administrative direction and duties on assigned projects.
- Accomplishes all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience.
- Preferred Associates degree required in Business, Construction Management or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience, with two (2) years of relevant work experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods required.
- Strong computer skills including proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-directed individual who is a team player.
- A demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
