Summary
The Production Closing Specialist is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate closure of production orders in SAP, ensuring quantities, yields, and mass balances are properly recorded and reconciled. This role also serves as the designated backup for the Production Planning Specialist, providing scheduling and planning support during absences or periods of high workload.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

SAP Production Order Closure & Control: Manage the closing of production orders in SAP, ensuring all confirmations, quantities, and material movements are completed accurately.

Mass Balance & Yield Reconciliation: Perform mass balance and yield reconciliation between raw material inputs and finished goods outputs.

Discrepancy Investigation: Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to material usage, scrap, or byproduct reporting.

Reporting: Generate reports related to production order performance, consumption, and yield tracking.

Master Data Support: Support master data accuracy for materials, BOMs, and routings where applicable.

Collaboration with Other Departments: Partner with Quality, Warehouse, and Finance teams to validate production reporting accuracy.

Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring issues in production order processing and implement corrective actions.

General Duties:

Serve as backup for the Production Planning Specialist, including developing and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules, coordinating with Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, and monitoring/adjusting schedules as needed.

Create, release, and monitor production orders in SAP to support planned production activities, and generate SAP planning reports related to order status, material availability, and production sequencing.

Maintain planning-related master data integrity for materials, BOMs, and routings in SAP.

Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.

Serve as a technical resource for production order and planning-related questions.

Lead by example in safety, quality, and operational discipline.

Work necessary overtime as assigned to ensure closing and planning coverage requirements are met.
Required Skills and Specifications:

Proficiency in SAP PP/MM transactions related to production orders, confirmations, closures, and planning/order release.

Strong understanding of manufacturing scheduling and production planning processes.

High attention to detail with strong analytical and reconciliation skills.

Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

To be eligible to apply, employees must possess: an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred), and 2–5 years of manufacturing, production control, or production planning experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
