Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using reservation management systems such as Toast POS
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and minimize wait times
- Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, assisting with reservations and inquiries
- Maintain accurate waitlists and communicate estimated wait times clearly to guests
- Support food service staff by managing guest flow and ensuring timely seating
- Uphold food safety standards and restaurant cleanliness during your shift to promote a safe dining environment
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on friendly guest interactions
- Proficiency in restaurant table management systems
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, waitlists, and guest billing when necessary
- Knowledge of food safety practices and restaurant operations
- Excellent organizational skills to coordinate seating plans and manage guest relations effectively
