The Frost Center for Social Science Research, Directed by Dr. Daryl Van Tongeren at Hope College, is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar position in the area of intellectual humility. This position is for one-year, from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. The post-doc will work closely with Dr. Van Tongeren to perform the research activities of grant-funded projects in intellectual humility, positive psychology, and the psychology of religion. This position is funded by a grant from The John Templeton Foundation (Grant #62265) and offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment, and connect with a wider network of scholars conducting research on intellectual humility. The position is in-person and begins July 1, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct empirical research on intellectual humility, including designing and executing studies.
- Assist in ongoing research activities on our grant-funded projects.
- Analyze data using statistical methods analysis software.
- Collaborate with faculty and other researchers on related projects.
- Write up papers from new and existing datasets.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
- Assist in grant writing and reporting activities.
Mentor undergraduate students involved in research projects.
